The 2016 partner agency application process is now open. Aloha United Way’s unique designation system is available to most 501c3’s on Oahu. Aloha United Way will not accept designations to grant-making foundations, capital campaigns, memorial funds, agencies that are organized for political purposes or agencies with missions or objectives that are antithetical to the mission and goals of AUW.
To be considered, agencies must meet the following minimum qualifications:
1) Hold 501c3 status with the IRS
2) Be registered and compliant with the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs
3) Be registered and compliant with the Attorney General’s Office (exempt agencies are included)
4) Have revenues of at least $25,000 for the past three years
5) Deliver a service on Oahu
6) Certify compliance with the Patriot Act
7) Certify compliance with Aloha United Way’s anti-discrimination policy
8) Comply with Aloha United Way’s guidelines on self-promotion of designations
9) Accept payments from Aloha United Way via electronic funds transfer.
We recommend that you gather all required documentation before you begin the online application.
Required documents:
- IRS 501(c) (3) Determination Letter: Agency's IRS 501 (c) (3) tax exemption letter showing IRS Employer Identification Number (EIN).
- IRS Form 990 & All Schedules: Agency's three (3) years of the most recently completed Form 990 including the signature of an officer and all applicable schedules. If you file a 990EZ or 990N please submit proof that form was filed.
- Audit & Management Letter: Agency's most recent audit and management letter (if revenue exceeds $500,000) or most recent independent financial review (if revenues are $500,000 or less).
- Registration & Compliance with the Attorney General: Agency's registration status with the Attorney General's Office. If your agency is exempt from registering with the Attorney General's Office please upload a copy of the exemption letter. - Registration & Compliance with the DCCA: Agency's registration and certification of good standing with the DCCA. Listed is the DCCA website where you can obtain a free PDF copy of the required documentation. https://hbe.ehawaii.gov/documents/search.html
- Agency Logo: Agency logo will be displayed on Aloha United Way's website and promotional materials. (Logo Requirements: 4 color, 300 DPI, JPEG Format). The application is completed online. The application must be completed no later than November 06, 2015. However, if you submit early and have errors then we will have time to work with you to correct them. You will be informed about your status in late March, 2016.
